Gord Peteran, Ontario, Canada "My piece is a response to the process of surfacing that occurs as a turned object is excavated from within the log. A block of wood was turned with large and random v-cuts. It was then bound in moistened leather and hand-stitched closed with linen thread. As the leather dried, it accentuated the high spots while leaving voids of stretched leather in the recesses partially revealing/obscuring the turning within."
