"Muse represents influences both past and present. Most recently, the symmetry of the individual elements in some African masks has led me to an investigation of how a single line can express an emotion. Muse also represents a return to one of my earliest sculptural explorations -- how concave surfaces can define a space beyond the object itself while convex surfaces tend to draw the object into itself."
